New Performance-Focused MREs Offer Clean Fuel for Military Environments

Designed with the realities of military life in mind, Essential Provisions MREs are shelf-stable, performance-driven, and made with organic ingredients, regeneratively sourced produce, and pasture- or prairie-raised, grass-fed, grass-finished meats. No preservatives, fillers, added sugars, or industrial seed oils—just real food that fuels high-demand operations.
“We didn’t set out to make typical field rations,” said Gentry-McGee, who previously founded Functional Formularies, the company behind the first organic, whole-food tube feeding formula. “We set out to create meals that truly nourish—made with ingredients that support the body, sharpen the mind, and restore energy. Each Essential Provisions MRE is:
- Made with organic and regenerative ingredients

- Shelf-stable for up to five years
- Ready-to-eat with no prep, rehydration, or heating required
While the product line is new to market, it’s already been tested by tactical professionals. The company conducted pre-launch tasting events at Sorinex WinterStrong7, a gathering of elite athletes and special operations veterans, and at the Wright State University Veteran and Military Center. Feedback from both groups was overwhelmingly positive, citing flavor, ingredient quality, and sustained energy as key differentiators from standard issue rations.
