Kathie Swift
Functional Food Nutrition Advisor

Kathie Swift is known as the Mother of Integrative and Functional Nutrition and is a founding mother of functional clinical nutrition. Educating other healthcare professionals has consistently been a central focus of her work. In 2015, she co-founded the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy (IFNA), which is a 100% online training program for dietitians and other healthcare professionals. She has also directed the acclaimed Food As Medicine and Mind, Mood & Food training programs for the Center for Mind-Body Medicine.
Swift's career includes leading the nutrition team at Canyon Ranch Health Resorts in Western Massachusetts, where she collaborated with highly skilled integrative physicians, exercise physiologists, psychologists, and coaches. She helped establish The UltraWellness Center with her long-time colleague, Dr. Mark Hyman. Swift has also developed workshops on digestive health, detoxification, immune, and brain health at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She is the author of several books on digestive health and metabolism, including one of the first books written on the microbiome.
Her introduction to integrative therapies occurred while living in the UK.
